Developer Kedwell has announced that construction of the Aquarius Centre, a new speculative warehouse development at Waterwells Business Park in Gloucester, has been completed.
The first unit at the development, Unit A, has been let by Alder King Property Consultants to Moreton Green on a new ten year lease.
Moreton Green, a not for profit social firm, is now fitting out the new premises, which they will use for production of their product range, which comprises a range of healthy cereals and fruit and nut snacks. Their new premises will also provide a learning and training centre as well as volunteering and employment opportunities for people disadvantaged in the labour market through disability, learning difficulties or mental health issues.
Moreton Green is run by Stuart Boreham, a Guinness World Record Holder. As well as being the first physically disabled person to row across the Atlantic solo, unassisted and unsupported, Stuart is a very successful entrepreneur and Moreton Green has already secured contracts to supply a number of local schools, businesses and quality food stores as well as a national supermarket chain.
Speaking about the imminent relocation, Stuart Boreham said: “We are very excited to be moving to these brand new premises, which fit the bill perfectly for our needs for an accessible-to-all building that can contain both our production facilities and our dedicated training facilities too.”
Stuart added: “We are delighted to have gained some small scale contracts with which to start production. We look forward to supplying our products and to developing these contracts over the coming months, as well as engaging with our supporters and partner agencies to offer employment, training and volunteering opportunities to local people.”
Adrian Rowley, partner at Alder King, is sole agent on the Aquarius Centre. He commented: “The Aquarius Centre is unusual because it is one of the few speculative developments recently completed in Gloucestershire and provides brand new product at a time when there is very little new stock available on the market. The remaining units on the centre are available on a freehold or a leasehold basis. Bespoke buildings are also available on a design and build basis, to suit occupiers’ requirements.”
The Aquarius Centre is located on the north edge of Waterwells Business Park, close to the Park and Ride facility. Waterwells Business Park is a highly successful development located between Gloucester and Junction 12 of the M5. Occupiers include Gloucestershire Constabulary, Axiter, HSBC, Parcel Force and Prima Dental.
